    SERVICES TO HR BY THE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD

     

    The following services to HR are available to HR professional.  Each will be covered in the presentation:·      

    • Intro to One Stop/Mission/Locations
    •  One Stop Web site features/services including Creating an Employer Account and Posting Jobs
    • Career Services for Job Seekers:  Coaching/Career Counseling, Workshops, Computers and more, ITA’s (Training Vouchers), Apprenticeships, Veteran’s services
    • Training:  OJT (On-the-job Training for new hires), Incumbent Worker Training, Business Sector Training
    • Job Fairs/Hiring Events
    • Job Matching/Screening candidates
    • Jobs Waiting program (federally funded program geared to long-term unemployed, designed to retrain this cohort to work in the healthcare sector, as well as serving incumbent healthcare sector workers who need additional training)

    Speakers:  Andrew Wainer Workforce Investment Board of Westchester, OJ Yizar, Judith King

    OJ Yizar has been a leader in the Westchester Workforce Development System for more than seventeen years. She provides creative leadership at the Westchester One Stop in White Plains NY where she has been the Manager for the last seven years. OJ serves on the Westchester Workforce Development Board as well as the Workforce Development Board Program Committee.

    Judith King is a Job Development Specialist for Westchester County Department of Social Services. She has over 5 years of Case Management and Job Development experience. In that time, Judith has proudly assisted unemployed and underemployed job seekers in developing and redefining their skills sets. Ms. King’s understanding of business sector partnerships has helped her better engage various organizations, and created opportunities for employment, and growth within the industries.
