Fun & Festive Employee Engagement Ideas

    heart advent calendar

Tis the season, the skies are gray and work days seem longer than usual.

Human Resource Professionals everywhere are looking for new and exciting ways to engage their employees.  Employers recognize employee engagement as essential to their competitive advantage. When developing strategies for an engaged culture it is important to develop a measurable system through engagement levers and actionable survey items.

One way employers can achieve employee engagement is to support community service. Community service promotes team building and positive brand awareness where local communities and municipalities can see the business’ commitment to its locality. Community service is also an inexpensive way to promote group activity and camaraderie among staff. It is important that employees understand the link between the community service and the organization’s values. This drives home the employer’s mission and goals.

One way to engage employees is to link community service to national holidays – like today! Here in Westchester, Volunteer New York ( is a great non-profit resource. This company united interested volunteers to local opportunities. It’s the Human Resource of the non-profit world.
