Message from Jeffrey Kimmel, President, WHRMA

Hello and Happy New Year!
I am honored and privileged to assume the role of President of the Westchester Human Resources Management Association (WHRMA) for the 2021-2022 term. I appreciate the confidence the Board of Directors and Membership has shown in me to lead this organization.
While we have all missed the opportunity to spend time together through in-person events in 2020, I have come to know some of you better through our online events, and I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming year.
I want to thank Victor Madubuko for his leadership over the past two years. Additionally, I would like to thank the former Board Members whose term ended in December. You were all integral to a very successful 2021 for WHRMA, despite the obvious challenges.
This past year we were able to successfully pull off our first virtual Annual Conference, launch an amazing new website, increase our membership roles, institute Breakfast with the Board events — a monthly virtual forum for an informal open discussion of pertinent HR issues, continue our monthly educational morning programs, partnered with numerous Westchester based organizations, and contribute thousands of dollars and volunteer time to charitable organizations.
I am excited to work with our excellent Board of Directors in 2021 and excited for what we are poised to accomplish for our Membership and the HR Community. Our 2021 Board is listed in full at the bottom of this letter.
Our goals for the 2021 year include another successful WHRMA Annual Conference (date TBD), increased involvement in supporting, and advocating for, the HR and employer community in Westchester, continuing our charitable donations and contributions to Westchester based organizations, continued membership growth, and continuing to raise the profile WHRMA.

We will also continue to provide you with our monthly educational Morning Programs on topics pertinent to the HR community and our monthly Breakfast with Board. We also hope, circumstances permitting, to reinstate in-person social and networking events. I encourage you to get involved with our community efforts and enjoy the benefits of membership. As of 2021 your will be able to view our upcoming events at our website.
We are open to your suggestions and questions, and I hope you will connect with us and reach out to me in the coming year. You can reach us at [email protected].
Being forced to isolate over the past year has reinforced the need for community. Our goal is for WHRMA to play an integral role in providing a community for those involved in HR in Westchester (and beyond) this coming year — and for years to come.

Again, we appreciate your support and look forward to a productive and generally better 2021!

With best wishes,
Jeffrey Kimmel, President, WHRMA
